99 Balloons

All I can say is wow...I was going through some of the new posts on the creative express website, when I came across a post for a youtube video. Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qILw1iFzmIE to watch 99 Balloons. It is such a sad, but inspirational story. I only wish we all could appreciate how precious life really is...just as these parents did.

Just Another Day...

Today was sooo..... long! I went to class from 9 am to 3 pm, which was (for lack of a better word) boring. On Tuesdays I have physics and then I teach a biology lab. Todays lab was teaching how to do CPR (it is connected to cellular respiration, which is why it is included as a lab). Needless to say, it was interesting having 24 students demonstrate CPR on a manikin...

Then I hurried off to my first education class, followed by a meeting with my education academic advisor, and finally....my last education class. With several midterms and 2 portfolios (compilations of work from my classes) coming due....I think I will be quite busy for the next couple of weeks.

I came home to a hyper puppy....so....I took him for a walk (but only because I forgot - once again - to put one of our bills and a netflix movie in the mail while driving home). Our walk was interesting too...there were two dogs that had escaped from a backyard and started to run rampant around the neighborhood. Fortunately, they were rounded up fairly quick...much to Ed's dismay (he sure didn't seem to mind the commotion....he's always up for making new friends)!

Finally, I spent about an hour and a half at a friend's bible study. We are covering the book of Acts (which I am ashamed to say...I have never read entirely). So...this should be a great opportunity!!! Oh and I forgot to mention that I ordered a set of christmas stamps and an inkpad from Stampin' Up. They are soooooo adorable! (I suppose you'll have to wait to see what they are until I make all my Christmas cards with them). :) Well...that's all for today - enjoy the photos.

to live is Christ
and to die is gain"

Busy, Busy, Busy

Wow...this last week and a half was extra busy! I started school last Wednesday and I think I've got my hands full for the rest of the quarter. I'm taking 5 classes: 3 education classes, a physics class, and a physics lab. I'm also a T.A. this quarter for one Bio 100 class. I help direct about 24 students through 2 weekly labs (Tuesdays and Fridays) and I get to grade all their papers....lucky me...lol!

D.h. has been just as busy. His part of the shop (the GREC) closed down last week. He helped a bunch of guys load up all the communication equipment to go to another base (Oklahoma...I think). Now he's getting situated in his new work space. He's been working alot on a networking class and his CDCs (study material to keep up to date with his job). Needless to say...he finds plenty of time to play around with his jeep! He's going hunting in the next week or two with a bunch of guys from work. We even went to Cabelas and got a "hitch and haul" for the back of his jeep (so he can carry all the extra stuff he needs).

Since I had a little extra time today...I wanted to post a few photos that I've collected over the summer. They seem to do a pretty good job summarizing everthing that we've done this past summer!

This was a picture of the blue angels practicing a day before the air show...Apparently, "The Goonies" was filmed in Astoria (where this picture was taken)...I thought that was pretty cool!
This is Mount Rainier...unfortunately....Mount Saint Helens was clouded over... :(
D.h. and Edmund (our great pyrenees puppy...yes puppy....just one year old this week). Well...that's all I have for today! Keep in touch everybody and remember...

give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
